Chhatra Maitri gets new executives

The new central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra Maitri, a left-leaning student organisation, was announced on Saturday. Abul Kalam Azad and Arnob Debnath were elected as President and General Secretary respectively.
Outgoing President of the organisation Bappaditya Basu announced the 65-member committee at a press conference at the Modhur Canteen of the Dhaka University in the afternoon.
The announcement came following the 18th council of the organisation. The two-day council was held at the TSC auditorium on the Dhaka University campus on March 3 and 4. The new committee was formed at the end of council and the leaders of the committee took the charge after formation.
The other members of the newly formed committee are- Vice Presidents Faruk Ahmed, Somrat Majumder, Shafiquzzaman, Rumio, Manower Hossain, Mizanur Rahman Sohel, Shamil Shahrukh Tomal, Ranojit Kumar Roy, Nazrul Islam, Farabi Ahsan Sujon, Riad Ahsan Topu, Bhadon, Tarique, Bishwanath Koyal and Assistant General Secretaries Masud Mazahar, Protik Biswas Sadon, Mahbub Alam Sarker Sujon and Shahrial Kabir Rasel, Organising Secretary Atul Das Alo, Publicity and Publication Secretary Bishwajit Roy Sajol, Office Secretary Niloy Roy, Financial Affairs Secretary Biplobi Sarker, International Affairs Secretary Abid Hossain, Political Education and Research Secretary Dishari Azim, Cultural Affairs Secretary Monir Hossian, Information Technology Secretary Abdul Mutaleb, Social Welfare Secretary Biju Roy. The outgoing president and general secretary were included in the new committee as honorable member.
