Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Thursday said chemical factories would be relocated from the capital city soon.
“The government is working to relocate the chemical factories as soon as possible,” he added.
The minister was addressing the opening ceremony of a two-day conference organized by Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) at the Small and Cottage Industries Training Institute (SCITI) auditorium in the city.
Referring to the relocation of tanneries to Savar from the capital, he said this sector has the potentials to exceed the readymade garments in future.
