Chattogram to be turned into IT City very shortly : Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said Chattogram will be turned into an IT based city within the short possible time. He disclosed it while signing the MOU in between Chattogram City Corporation and High Tech Park Authority yesterday at City Corporation Bhaban premises.
City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin presided over the MOU signing ceremony at CCC Conference Hall duly attended by Minister for Post, Tele communications & Information Technology Mostafa Jabbar as Chief Guest.
Managing Director of High Tech Authority Hosne Ara Begum was present on the occasion as special guest. Hosne Ara Begum of High Tech Park and the Chief Executive Officer of CCC Md. Shamsudoha signed the MOU on respective sides. State Minister on the occasion said Chattogram is a port city as well as commercial capital of the country.
 Mayor of this Commercial Capital City AJM Nasir Uddin allocated lands for IT Park and hoped this city will be turned into IT city very shortly .
He also said the people of Chattogram played pioneering role during anti-British, anti-Pakistan and survival of democracy movement from autocracy and their role are unlimited.
He said the users of internet was 56 lakh in early 10 years ago but not it reached to 10 crore users. He apprised that the numbers of Sheikh Digital lab are 9 thousand now and installations of more 25 thousand are in pipe line.
State Minister Junaid Palak further apprised that development of IT goes fast in last 10 years and now export income comes from this sector is about 1 Billion dollar which will be reached by 5 billions very shortly.
Sources said IT Park is being built at CCC lands in Chandgaon area adjoining BFIDC road and at 6th to 11th floors of Agrabad Bangkok Singapore Market at a cost of Tk 200 cr. According to MOU, CCC and High Tech Park will share 50-50% income from these IT park for intial 30 years next. Sources said prelimary agreement between CCC and High Tech park was signed on 18 july, 2018.
