After one-day recess, Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket resumes today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.
Gazi Group Chattogram will face Minister Group Rajshahi in the day’s first match, which begins at 12.30pm, while Beximco Dhaka will meet Fortune Barishal in the day’s second match, which starts at 5.30pm.
These matches will be the last outings of the Round Robin League.
Gazi Group Chattogram led the points table bagging 12 points from seven matches.
Beximco Dhaka and Gemcon Khulna jointly took the second position collecting eight points each from their respective seven and eight matches.
Minister Group Rajshahi and Fortune Barishal jointly took the bottom position earning four points each from their respective seven matches.
Gazi Group Chattogram, Beximco Dhaka and Gemcon Khulna have already confirmed their play-off berth.
It will be do-or-die matches for Minister Group Rajshahi and Fortune Barishal.
If Minister Group Rajshahi and Fortune Barishal win their respective matches, one of them will reach in the last four berth by virtue of better run-rate.
On the other hand, if the two teams concede defeats in their today’s respective matches, one of them will enter in the play-off phase, according to better run-rate.
Besides, if Barishal win and Rajshahi lose to their opponents, Barishal will reach the play-off stage. And if Rajshahi win and Barishal taste defeat, Rajshahi will confirm their play-off berth.
