Charge framed against Jamaat Amir, 185 others

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) of Dhaka Muhammad Asaduzzaman Nur yesterday framed charges against Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafikur Rahman and 185 others in a sabotage case filed with Motijheel Police Station in 2012.
The accused people, now on bail, pleaded not guilty and demanded justice after the ACMM read out the charges in the court.
The court fixed March 22 of next year to start the trial of the case when the complainant will testify in the case.
In November 2012, Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Hasan of Motijheel Police Station lodged the case against 63 persons on the charges of detonating crude bombs and setting fire to a BRTC bus.
Sub-Inspector Khondokar Zahid Ali of the police station pressed charges against 186 people including Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafikur Rahman, on April 30, 2014.
