Chandpur Correspondent :
A group of miscreants ,suddenly coming by 60/70 motorbikes allegedly vandalised the village residence of BNP candidate for Chandpur-4 ,Faridganj, Constituency Harun or Rashid on Thursday afternoon at Manderkhil village in 16 No Union under Faridganj Upazila.
Witnesses said, the miscreants suddenly came by motorbikes and chanting slogans started vandalising with sticks and brickpieces the glasses of windows, doors, gates and ventilators and other valuables for about one hour and then fled away safely. The inmates of the residence felt panicked and shouted for help but to no effect. The caretaker of the home Rubel Mia told this correspondent that a group of miscreants riding on motorbikes of 60/70 suddenly came and vandalised the windows, doors, and valuables of the residence.
Contacted, OC Harunor Rashid told this correspondent that on information, he sent a Police team to the spot and we are trying to identify the attackers through enquiry.
The attack might be ‘due to intra party conflicts’-guess the Police and others.
No case was filed in this connection as yet. It may be recalled here that BNP candidate for this seat MA Hannan’s candidature was deferred by high court on 17 December due to his loan default. In the last moment of election campaign, ex-BNPMP Harunor Rashid was given the candidature of ‘the sheaf of paddy’ by the Election Commission. But his residence was attacked during his last minutes’ campaign.
