As a pair, though once popular pair of the big screen, Shabnaz and Nayeem does not engage with acting but they feel attraction to filmdom and its people. For this reason, to pass time with them who were engaged with this pair’s first movie Chandni directed by Ehtesham they arranged a get-together programme in November 2016 on the occasion of celebration of the releasing of movie’s silver jubilee. On October 4, 1991, Chandni was released. October 4, 2021 the movie passed 30 years of its releasing. Shabnaz and Nayeem took initiative to
celebrate three decades of the releasing of Chandni. Due to corona, they later cancelled it. Their minds remain gloomy not to arrange the celebration party. They have to pass time at home due to corona pandemic. October 5 was their 28th wedding anniversary. Many persons wished them on social media to mark 30 years of releasing Chandi movie and 28th marriage anniversary of Shabnaz and Nayeem. While talking about marking three decades of releasing Chandni movie Nayeem said, “We passed three decades of releasing our acted first movie Chandni. I could not understand how times flied so quickly. Our first film’s director Ehtesham Sir is not alive now but we always miss him. He had a lot of contribution to develop our film industry. May Allah bless him Jannat.” Shabnaz shared her feelings by this way, “Though both of
us are not engaged with acting now but we always miss the film industry and its
people. Everything of this industry influences us because we introduced with each other while working in this film. Later, we got married and we are passing happy life. It is really Allah’s blessing that after 30 years of releasing of Chandni, film-lovers still remember us for the movie.” As a pair, Shabnaz and Nayeem started a new era in the film industry. After Chandni, they
presented Dil, Sonia, Chokhe Chokhe, Bisher Banshi, Anutopto, Takar Ahonkar, Sakhkhat,
Jid, among other movies.
