Former Head Coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team Chandika Hathurusingh arrived in the city on Saturday. Earlier, Cricket Sri Lanka officially appointed him the Head Coach of Sri Lanka National Cricket team.
Senior Media Manager of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Rabeed Imam said to this Reporter on Saturday evening, ” Chandika Hathurusingha came here to officially finish his duty with BCB. He will also submit all papers to BCB to officially confirm his resignation from his post.”
It may be mentioned that Hathurusingha submitted his resignation letter to BCB after dismal performance of Bangladesh Cricket team against their counterpart South Africa there recently. BCB appointed Hathurusingha as Head Coach of Bangladesh team until ICC World Cup Cricket 2019. But Chandika submitted his resignation letter before finishing his tenure.
Chandika will officially take over his duty as Head Coach of Sri Lanka Cricket team on December 20. Sri Lanka will play three Twenty20 International matches against India.
