President of Chittagong chamber of commerce & industry Mahbubul Alam and Vice President of Federation of Bangladesh of commerce & Industry has been honoured with the Certitificate of Merit of World Customs Organisation , a CCCI sources said. This certificate was given on the occasion of International Customs Day-2016 .
This honourary award was given as a recognition of praiseworthy contribution in customs activities by him.
The theme of the International custom day was ‘Commitment to establish Digital Customs’.
Sources said Chittagong Customs hasplayed effective role in attaining the ability of NBR’s competitive sustainity and following the initiatives of Chittagong Chamber, Automation Project is introduced in Chittagong Customs House in 2008.
