Awami League nominated candidates for the post of chairman and member in the Feni District Council Elections have been declared uncontested. As there were no rival candidates, Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Abu Salim Mahmud -ul-Hasan declared these candidates the winners on Monday.
District Election Officer Md. Nashir Uddin Patwari, Feni Mayor Nazrul Islam Swapan Miyaji, Parshuram Upazila Parishad Chairman Kamal Uddin Majumdar, Fulgazi Upazila Parishad Chairman Abdul Alim Majumdar and others were present there.
On the date fixed by the Election Commission Khairul Bashar Tapan as Chairman and Syed Saiful Islam, Joint General Secretary of Fulgazi Upazila Awami League in Ward No. 1, Kazi Omar Farooq, General Secretary of Chagalnaiya Upazila Jubo League in Ward No. 3, Abu Taleb Jacob, Joint General Secretary of District Jubo League in Ward No. 4. Sadar Upazila Jubo League President Nurul Afchar Apan in Ward No. 5, Daganbhunya Town Awami League President Khayez Ahmed, Charchandia Union Awami League General Secretary in Ward No. 6 Abdur Rahim Manik and District Women Awami League General Secretary in Ward No. 1, 2 and 3. Laila Jasmin Baramoni and Shahida Akhtar Shefali, member of Daganbhuanya Upazila Awami League in Ward No. 4, 5 and 6 submitted their nomination papers.
