CGDF pays tribute to Bangabandhu

Controller General Defense Finance (CGDF) M Nurul Islam paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara of Gopalganj on January 9, said a press release on Monday.
He placed a wreath at the grave of Bangabandhu.
After placing the wreath, he stood in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of Bangladesh’s independence. Prayers were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu and his family members.
Besides, CGDF officials and employees celebrated Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day through various programmes, added the press release.
On January 10, 1972, Bangabandhu returned to Dhaka through London and New Delhi 24 days after Bangladesh emerged as free nation by defeating the Pakistani armed forces in a nine-month war.
Since then, January 10 is observed as Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day.
