“Bangladesh is now a role model in the world in disaster management and it has been made possible by the joint efforts of all, and the contribution of community volunteers is important here.” said Brigadier General Md. Sazzad Hussain, Director General of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), at the Spectra Convention Center in the capital on the Community Volunteers Certificates and Crests Distribution Ceremony held recently.
Director General of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. Lt. Col, Siddique Mohammod Zulfiker Rahman, Director – Planning, Training and Development of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense and Md. Nurul Haque Chowdhury, Deputy Director from Department of Disaster Management -DDM, Asit Baran Biswas, Ward Councilor Narayangonj City Corporation, Ad. Razia Sultana Ward Councilor and panel Mayor from Savar, Urban Planner of Narayanganj City Corporation Md. Moinul Islam were present on the occasion as a special guest. Dr. Nazmun Nahar Nur, Deputy Director, CCA & DRR, Save the Children was delivered the welcome speech at the event. There were various governmental and non-governmental organizations representatives present on the occasion.
