In a pioneering initiative to catalyze corporate leadership development in Bangladesh, leading Chittagong companies and the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry collaboratively launched the first CEO leadership workshop “Leading Companies to Global Growth” at Chittagong Boat Club. recently, says a press release.
Corporate facilitators from world-class management institute IMD in Switzerland Charles Danaraj, Leif Sjoblom and Pasha Mahmood led 40 CEOs and directors from AKK, BSRM, Baizid Steel, CCCI, CEAT, Coats, HRC Group, Pedrollo Group, PKSF, Unilever, Western Marine Shipyard and to strategize transformational leadership in their organizations.
Focusing on two powerful strategic questions “What will it take to double your company’s revenue in 3 years?” and “What management development programs will help accomplish this goal?”, the facilitators challenged CEOs in interactive action learning and break-out sessions to innovate bolder strategies and debunk accepted constraints to their global growth.
Mr. Kamran Bakar, Chairman & CEO of Unilever Bangladesh observed that “while companies possess adequate management knowledge and management application, the most critical element of Leadership remains acutely absent in companies.” Mr. Salahuddin Kasem Khan, Managing Director, AKK added that “the key challenge to Bangladesh’s growth is leadership development and therefore must be invested in through industry collaboration with the premier international management institutes such as INSEAD, MIT, Asian Institute of Management, National University of Singapore, Columbia University.”
