General Railway Police (GRP) on Friday arrested Chattogram Central Jail Super Sohel Rana Biswas on charge of illegally possessing Tk 44.43 lakh and 12 bottles Phensidyl.
A team of GRP picked up him from the Bijoy Express train at Bhairab Bazar Railway Station at 1 PM.
The police recovered cheques of worth Tk 1.3cr and FDR Tk 2.50 cr in his wife’s name also.
Sources said, the GRP arrested Sohel Rana Biswas while searching the Mymensingh-bound train at Bhairab Bazar Station.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Prison), Chattogram Divison said, action will follow fair investigation.
