CDA to launch drive to identify fire-risky bldgs in Port City soon

City watchdog of the Chattogram -Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) will soon launch a drive to identify the fire risk-bearing buildings in the city .
Special Magistsrate of CDA Md. Saiful Alam chowdhury told that this anti-fire drive will be launched from Thursday next.
 He said suitable time will be allowed to the building owners to install the fire fighting systems within the building premises failing to face stern actions including closing down the use of builidings further. Authorised officer of CDA Md. Manzur Hasan also apprised that this drive will be launched simultaneously in the city dividing into four zones. Sources said in beginning of the program, first of all will be launched in Reazuddin Bazar, Tamakund land and its adjoining areas in the heart of the city.
 Sources further said the areas of Reazuddin Bazar and it’s adjoining area are most densely populated and there are about 100 fire risk buildings, markets. Authorised officer said quick steps will be taken to ensure the fire fighting installations in these building within very short time. CDA chairman office sources said gradually the drive will be launched in 18 residential areas and a number of small and posh shopping complexes, kitchen markets n the city.
