CDA chairman Salam’s tenure extended

Govt has extended the contractual period of the present Chairman Abdus Salam for the fourth time of one year more from yesterday as Chairman of City watchdog Chittagong Development Authority .
 Imaginations, rumours over the new Chairman of city watchdog ended following the extension of the existing chairman for more one year. CDA Chairman has successfully completed the period of 5 years in the meantime which expires on April 22 last. In connivance with the former city Mayor and AL city President ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury , a faction of ruling party and CDA Workers League demanded removal of the chairman in the meantime and lastly on Tuesday , CDA office gheraoed by the Sramik League workers league against the removal of the chairman for alleged irregularities. For his remarkable development activities in the port city, govt again extended for one year’s period from yesterday, a CDA sources said. The extention letter was signed by Deputy secretary of Public Administration Ministry Md. Abdus Samad yesterday.
Mentionable that noted Awami League leader Abdus Salam was appointed as Chairman of CDA firstly for two years from 23 April, 2009 , in second time again extended for two years from April 26, 2011 and third time extended for one year from March 19, 2013. Now for the fourth time, extended for one year more despite different rumours and resistances against him.
