The Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) ordered the two buildings owners in Halishahor area to demolish the buildings , which tilted during Wednesday’s earthquake in the city.
The authority also declared two other buildings risky and unsafe after they tilted to one side by the earthquake that located opposite to WASA and another in Jubilee Road area.
A three-member probe body formed by CDA ordered the building owners to demolish partially two buildings in Halishahor area Friday morning.
“We’ve taken snaps of the tilted buildings and asked the owners of two of them to break the parts that leaned.” Shahinul Islam Khan added.
The probe team led by its chief Plannder Shahinul Islam Khan also marked the two buildings risky and unsafe after inspecting the buildings in WASA and Jublee road area on Thursday.
Shahinul Islam Khan said the decision on the future course of action about the rest seven buildings will be taken after further inspection and a team of experts would visit those buildings on Sunday.
A technical committee comprising experts will be formed, following recommendation of which the decision about the rest risky buildings will be taken at a meeting on April 18, he added.
Earlier, 9 buildings including a shopping centre in Jubilee Road, Enayet Bazaar, Chandgaon residential area, Bariq Building area and Momin Road area tiled on Wednesday following the earthquake in 7.2 rector scale with its epicenter at 420 kilometers off from Bangladesh.
