Commissioner of Chattogram Customs House Fakhrul Alam said the contribution of garment industry to national exports and employment is undeniable. In order to expedite the unloading and export of imported goods in the garment industry, importance should be given to the presentation of documents in accordance with the customs regulations.
Custom House Chittagong will extend all possible cooperation to the export industry in order to continue the growth of exports through mutual discussion and cooperation.
 The commissioner made the assurance while exchanging views with a delegation led by BGMEA First Vice-President Syed Nazrul Islam recently to resolve the existing complexities in the import-export activities of the readymade garment industry.
 BGMEA Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Director AM Shafiul Karim (Khokon), M Ahsanul Haque, Former Director and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Customs Anjan Shekhar Das, Former Director Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, President of C&F Agents Association AKM Akhtar Hossain were present at the meeting. , BGMEA member Rakib Al Naser and BGMEA officials were present.
 Syed Nazrul Islam said that despite the emergence of Corona virus, Bangladesh’s garment industry has continued its efforts to revive the global economic downturn by following the rules of health and conducting production activities of the garment industry and with the tireless cooperation of the Prime Minister.
 At present export orders are increasing steadily, which is very positive for our national economy. Custom House Chittagong has a huge role to play in the timely implementation of all these export orders, sources said.
