Cattle trader killed by rivals in Satkhira

A cattle trader, who sustained injuries in an attack by his co-traders on Kushkhali border in Sadar upazila on Sunday afternoon, died at Mohakhali Ayesha Memorial Hospital in the capital on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Sumon Kabir, son of Hasan Ali of Shikri village in the upazila.
Locals said Sumon had an altercation with his co-traders-Zakir, Bablu and Baharul-over sharing money of selling cattle in the area in the afternoon.
At one stage, they attacked Sumon and beat up him with bamboo, leaving him injured.
Critically injured, Sumon was first admitted to sadar hospital and later shifted to Mohakhali Ayesha Memorial Hospital in Dhaka as his condition deteriorated.
Sumon died at the hospital around 10.00pm.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Golam Rahman confirming the murder said a case was filed against five people, including Zakir and Bablu, on Monday.
