Entertainment Report :
Catherine Masud, widow of noted
filmmaker Tareque Masud, wants to complete the making of Tareque Masud’s incomplete film ‘Kagojer Phul.’ Before completing this movie, director Tareque Masud and cinematographer Mishuk Munier died in a road accident on their way back from the shooting spot of the movie.
Catherine Masud expressed her hope to take forward the work to a large scale in a commemorative event held at Pathak Somabesh Kendra of Kantaban in the capital last Friday.
She also mentioned her plans besides reminiscing about the difficult times she passed after that terrible accident.
On the occasion of the 11th death anniversary of Tareque Masud and Mishuk Munier, Moviyana Film Society organised the event titled ‘Tareque Masud Smoron O Chalachchitra Jatra Gronther Path- Porjalochona’ (Remembrance of Tareque Masud and Reading and Review of the Book of Film Journey).
On August 13, 2011, Tareque Masud, cinematographer Mishuk Munier and three others died in a road accident on their way back from the shooting location of the film ‘Kagojer Phul.’ Catherine was also injured in the accident.
In the memorial programme, Catherine Masud said, “Many outsiders may not understand how much pressure I had to take after that accident. A one-year-old baby was in my hands. Everyone on the team is stuck in the grief of losing Tareque -Mishuk. In this condition, it was not possible to make the film ‘Kagojer Phul.’ It is not possible to make a movie alone. It needs a team. The team gets stronger as they work year after year. We started with ‘Adam Surat.’ After that, we became a team for 30 years. It would have been easier if Mishuk Munier was alive.”
Catherine Masud also said, “I want to make ‘Kagojer Phul’ with those who are still by my side.”
