Provided BDT 6,36,30,000 unconditional cash grants support among the families of sponsor children in Hatibandha Upazila of Lalmonirhat district and Jaldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari district in March 2021 under the sponsorship programme.
This cash grant support has provided through Mobile Money Transfer (MMT) and 500 families received cash in hand who have no mobile. All (12,726) sponsor children’s families under Rangpur Division have received this support.
Among them 8371 families from Jaldhaka and 4355 from Hatibandha. Each family got BDT 5000 (USD 59)
The objective of the cash grants distribution is to enable the Sponsor Children’s families for coping up with the measurable situation due to COVID 19 pandemic. 12726 families will use this cash to meet their essentials including nutritional needs and purchase educational materials. Dr. Hrishikesh Sarker, Interim Divisional Manager of Plan International Bangladesh, Hasinul Kabir, Assistant Sponsorship Manager of Plan International Bangladesh were present at the distribution event. Respective Chairman of the Union Parishad and members of Community Based Organization were present at the distribution events.
