Case research centre to dev skill bank officials: BIBM

Speakers at a seminar on Thursday has underscored the need for establishing case research centre for the training institutes of the banking sector in order to strengthen the process of human resource development.
The speakers said this while addressing a national seminar on ‘Training Effectiveness’ at the auditorium of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) in the city.
Addressing as the chief guest, Md. Abul Quasem, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank called upon the financial institutions to take more training programme for the development of desired skills and knowledge of bank employees.
“We need more skilled bank employees to ensure the financial security of country’s banking sector”, said the Deputy Governor.
He further observed that it is a difficult but timely initiative of BIBM to assess effectiveness of training provided to bank employees and hoped that the recommendations would surely get proper attention of the policy makers as well as operating banks of the country.
Dr. Toufic Ahmed Choudhury, Director General of BIBM chaired the Seminar while Dr. Prashanta Kumar Banerjee, Professor and Director of BIBM delivered the welcome address.
