Case lodged in connection of attack on artist-team of Barisal in ‘Bangladesh Festival’ at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Dhaka.
Hasanur Rashid Maksud, cultural officer of Barisal district Shilpakala Academy as complainant lodged the case (no. 348/ 2016) on Wednesday night. Investigation in going on, said Mashiur Rahman, officer in charge of Ramna police station of DMP.
In the case Ershad Hossain, light designer, Chakladar Mustafa Masud, cinematography officer, Rakibul Bari, official of Shiplakala Academy Dhaka, Rajib, Akram, Jubayer, Rubel and Rana, member of Lok Natya Dal, were accused for attack, complainant Hasanur said.
Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury, Secretary of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Dhaka and head of the one-member probe committee formed in this connection, said there an internal incident was happened on January 18 night. But none was injured and he will submit probe report within January 22. One other hand the district cultural officer of Shilpakala Academy Barisal was given show cause notice for alleged misbehavior.
Hasanur, complaint of the case, said a 70-member team with male and female artists of dance, drama, folk songs from Barisal reached at Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka on January 18, 2016 morning to participate in ‘Bangladesh Festival’.
