Case filed against Khaleda for hurting sentiments now on Feb 25

Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court on Sunday once again deferred the submission of the probe report in the case filed against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for hurting the religious sentiments of the people. Magistrate Shamsul Arefin of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court fixed February 25, as the new date for submission of the report. The court passed the order as the Investigation Officer of the case did not submit any report on Sunday, following the previous decision of thecourt. With this decision, the court so far deferred 13 times, the dates for submission of the probe report.Pro-Awami League organization, Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddique filed the case on October 21, 2014, accusing Khaleda Zia of using defamatory words intended to create the conflict among the people of different social strata and beliefs.The case statement says that Khaleda Zia while addressing a function of the Hindu community at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh on October 14, 2014, said, “Awami League leaders are pretending to be secular but they have no faith in any religion,” “Awami League men attack people from all social strata and occupy religious institutions using secularism as rhetoric when they talk,” she added
