Carpenters are breaking open the door of the office of Secretary of Jatiya Press Club yesterday evening, engaged by the newly selected executive committee declared on Thursday by a faction of Press Club members in an emergency meeting. The selection took place bypassing the biennial election. New President of Jatiya Press Club Shafiqur Rahman from Awami League led forum and Secretary Qamrul Islam Chowdhury representing a faction of BNP affiliated forum reportedly took over the office in a highly tense situation while the incumbents office-bearers tried to resist it.
