Students and teachers of Amrita Lal Dey Mahabidalaya raising voice against rape held rally and formed human chain demanding capital punishment after immediate arrest and speedy trial of the rapists.
The students and teachers arranged this programme in front of the college at Hospital Road area on Sunday noon rally and human chain.
They urged for building strong resistance against the rampant incidents of rape and repression on women.
Suvash Chandra Paul, principal of the college, presided over the rally and college founder member Bijoy Krishna Dey, Tunu Rani Karmaker , women right activist, Khalilur Rahman, Dulal Majumdar, Boishakhi Chakraborty, Anita Rani Basu, Lincon Das, Debashish Chakraborty, Partha Sharathi Sharma, Beauty Sultana, Sayem Hossain, techers and students of the college, addressed the programme.
.They demanding exemplary and capital punishment of the accused rapists after immediate arrest and speedy trial asked the state authourity to ensure safety and security of the women and children.
They also stressed on raising consciousness against this crime and asked mass people to come forward for protesting this heinous crime which now became a social virus and practice of morality in family level to prevent that decay.
