Country’s some capital market and financial experts noted that listings of good securities are needed to revitalize the stock market as the COVID-19 outbreak made a big blow to the stock market, which has been suffering from the crisis of investors’ confidence.
According to them, it will take less time to consolidate the stock market if the supply of good company’s shares can be increased rapidly. In this case, good issues like Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd will play a positive role in reducing the current downturn in the share market.
Anu Muhammad, professor of Economics department of Jahangirnagar University, said, “Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited is a big manufacturing based company. They are the pioneers in the production of electronics products in the country. The listing of such a big manufacturing based company to the capital market would encourage the market investors to do business. The unstable share market would be stable.
Referring to the crisis in investors’ confidence in the market, he also said, investors always seek shelter in the markets. And their shelter is the share of reputed companies. There is a great lack of shelter for investors in Bangladesh’s stock market.
Capital market analyst and also the former deputy governor and of central bank Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled said, “Walton is a great and reputed company. It will be really good for the stock market.”
Prof. Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of Marketing Department of Dhaka University, said that the decision to capitalize a large company like Walton is definitely a positive aspect for the market. When such a company comes, investor’s confidence in the stock market will increase. Capital markets will rise up. It will also help accelerate the growth of the country’s economy.
On January 15, 2019, Walton performed a road show to collect Tk100 crore from the stock market in book building system.
