Over hundred of farmers formed a human chain demanding to cancel 53 fake freedom fighters’ certificates at beside the Lalmonrhat- Burimari Highway at Hatibandha upazila town in Lalmionirhat District Tuesday noon.
Earlier, a press conference was held regarding the matter at Upazila Mukti Jodhdha Sangsad, and later FFs submitted memorandum the Prime Minister PM through Upazila Nirbahi Officers UNO.
The Upazila Mukti Jodhdha Sangsad Commander Fazlul Haque addressed the press
conference, where all other FFs were present.
FF Upazila Commander Fazlul haque said, there are 53 fake freedom fighters of Hatibandha upazila have enjoying all govt facilities after taking fake certificates managing local leader of ruling party AL.
“The 53 fake freedom fighters didn’t fight in our freedom war, even they didn’t take part in the freedom fighter training camp, even they didn’t help any freedom fighters, but they are identifying themselves as freedom fighter,” he said adding they will call tougher programme if no step is taken against the 53 fake FFs of the upazila by a month.
“The fake freedom fighters always take their seats in the front line of any govt. meeting, seminar, workshop and different national programmes like victory day, red-letter day, independent day, we the genuine FFs get shame watching the scene. We know detail, but we are nothing to do as they collect certificates taking help of ruling AL leader,” said freedom fighter Nur Islam, the ex-commander of upazila Mukti Jodhdha Sangsad.
“The fake FFs are so musclemen in the locally, and they always neglect to the genuine FFs,” said another FF Akbari Ali in the human chain.
“There are many genuine freedom fighters in our upazila but they didn’t get certificates till now, whereas fake freedom fighters got certificates, it is very sad and matter of infamous for us, for our nation,” said FF Matiar Rahman in the function.
