Campaign of sacrifice, service among inter-religious community stressed

The campaign of sacrifice and service calling for contact, peaceful coexistence, cooperation and communication among inter-religious community held in Barisal on Sunday.
The day-long progamme organised by non-government organization Caritas Barisal Region at its auditorium in the city also marked the Caritas Day of sacrifice and services with the theme “We do Works of Mercy, We become Merciful”.
It was presided over by Francis Bepari, Caritas regional director and participated by the representatives from different religious communities, sect, class, public representatives ,educationists, socio-cultural-NGO activists, local elites and also project activists of Caritas.
Among others it was addressed by Bishop Laurence Subrata Haldar, Rev. Father Phillip De Rosario, Rev. Father Michel Milon Dewri, from Christian, Dr. Mawlana Abdus Salam from Muslim, Prof. Manon Adhikari from Hindu, and Mythene Promila from Buddhist communities.
The speakers and guests discussing their views according to their own religion called to sacrifice and serve the humanity without considering their colour,class, community, religion, region with the slogan ‘Come sister come brother Let us stand by one another”.
They praising the unique peaceful co-existences and harmony of religious communities in Bangladesh also opined that every religious belief is flexible to serve all mankind, although some followers misunderstanding that claiming themselves as ‘fundamentalist’ denying to sacrifice for others.
 At the ending part of the programme ‘songs of sacrifice and service’ was offered and 29 officials, staffs and employees selected from projects of Caritas Barisal region awarded cash incentives and certificates for their long term outstanding services and sacrifices.
 The participants of the programme symbolizing sacrifices willingly gave donations to the charity funds.
