The new executive committee of Camera Recreation Club, the first photographic organization in Bangladesh, was formed on January 20. The two-year committee was formed with photographer AT Shaheen Ahmed as a president, Shahadat Parvez as a general secretary and Fateha Ahmed Sathi as a finance secretary.The other of the five-member committee are A K Saeed Ahmed and Nadira Begum.
It may be mentioned that Golam Qasim Daddy, the pioneer photographer of Bangladesh and the first Bengali Muslim short story writer, established the Camera Recreation Club at his own house at 73 Indira Road, Dhaka on 12 August 1962. After his death on January 9, 1998, the club’s activities came to a standstill.
