Call to uphold ideals of Bangabandhu, 4 nat’l leaders

Jatiya Sangsad Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Mian on Friday called upon all pro-liberation people irrespective of political affiliation to work together for the country’s development upholding the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders, who were brutally killed in 1975.
He made the call speaking as chief guest at a discussion meeting in the city commemorating the killing four national leaders in jail on November 3 in 1975, said an official release.
Presided over by freedom fighter Fulu Sarkar, the discussion meeting was also addressed by Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Mohammad Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Awami League former Joint General Secretary Mukul Bose and former MP Mohammad Shahidullah.
The deputy speaker said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working for the development of Bangladesh.
He urged all to be aware to save the country from the conspiracies of anti-liberation forces.
Fazle Rabbi Mian said Islam is the religion of peace and it does not approve killing people.
All will have to be awareness to eliminate the extremists who are carrying out terrorism using the name of religion, he added.
