The arrangement for sending Hajj pilgrims of Chattogram Division through Pahartali Haji camp of the port city is a long felt demand of the people of this division .
It is very much difficult for the pilgrims from remote areas of this division to reach Dhaka by road or rail due to severe road congestions, lack of easy availability of rail tickets for completion of formalities at Asakona Haji Camp of Dhaka .
On the other hand, if the arrangement for sending pilgrims through Pahartali haji camp, the pressure on Dhaka based Haji camp will be eased to maximum extents.
Mentionable that the numbers of hajj pilgrims from Chattogram division is about 25% of the total. Moreover, there is an existing Haji Camp and International airport facilities in Chattogram and it will be wise to send hajj pilgrims of this division thru’ Pahartali haji camp every year without any obstacles.
The decision of sending hajj pilgrims through Pahartali Haji amp depends on cordiality and liberality of the concerned higher authority of the Ministry, sources said. This demand was placed at the meeting of the Hajj Jhatri Kaylan Parishad (HJKP)held at a posh hotel in city on Monday with its President Alhaj Ahmadul Islam Chowdhury in the chair.
Secretary General of the Parishad Principal Dr Abdul Karim delivered address of welcome in the meet duly moderated by Dr Saleh Ahmed Suleman. Among others, Prof Shahdat Hossain, Muktijudda Commander Md Shahabuddin, Md Nurul Islam, Alhaj Md Sharif, Ashraf Hossain, Amanuddin Khan Abdullah and Adv Md Abdullah spoke on the occasion.
Mentionable that Hajj pilgrims training program will be held at Rima Convention Hall in city on July 7 next duly arranged by the HJKP President and the Secretary General of the HJKP called upon the Hajj pilgrims of the current season to join the hajj training program and seminar in due time.
