Prime Minister’s Political Advisor HT Imam urged the teachers, students and employees of Khulna University (KU) to work together under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said this yesterday while addressing as the chief guest at a discussion meeting styled “Bangabandhu and Bangladesh” at the Liakat Ali auditorium of Acharya Jagadish Chandra Basu academic building of KU.
‘Swadhinata Shikshak Parishad’, a pro-liberation teachers association of the university, organized the discussion with president of the organization Professor Dr. Anirban Mostofa in the chair.
HT Imam said after the independence, Bangabandhu was leading the nation by undertaking important reconstruction works of a ravaged country. But the anti-liberation forces along with the national and international conspirators, he said, had killed Father of the Nation and his family members on the black night of August 15, 1975.
He said, Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, is working relentlessly for progress of the country and turning Bangladesh a middle income country by 2021.
The advisor said Bangabandhu and independence of Bangladesh are inseparable and independence is meaningless without Bangabandhu.
Vice-Chancellor of KU Prof Dr. Md. Fayequzzaman, Treasurer Khan Atiar Rahman and leaders of Swadhinata Shikshak Parishad, among others, spoke.
Earlier, the chief guest visited the KU and Mass Killing, Oppression Archive: 1971 and Museum Trust in the city.
