Call to make tech driven country

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak urged the young generations to achieve technological knowledge to make themselves competent workforce to supplement the government efforts of building a prosperous country.
“In the last 20 years, labour-incentive economy has dominated in Bangladesh. But now we have to transform it into a knowledge based economy by creating skilled manpower,” he told a seminar in the auditorium of ‘Daffodil International University (DIU) here on Thursday. The DIU organized the seminar titled “Information Technology Engineers Examinations (ITEE)”.
Zunaid said the government has envisioned its philosophy Vision 2021: Digital Bangladesh leading towards use of ICT to leverage economic growth and development to transform Bangladesh into a middle- income country by 2021.
“We all should work from our respective position by adopting knowledge on information technology (IT) to build ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he added.
The certificate of ITEE examination will help the local Bangladeshi IT professionals to get international jobs around the globe, Nazrul Islam Khan said and added that it should be introduced to make high quality ITEE successful candidates in the country.
The ITEE is the examination for IT engineers, Dr Amzad said adding Bangladesh has performed better in the first examination of ITEE securing second position among the seven Asian countries. One of the objectives of introducing ITEE in the country is to give international branding to Bangladesh IT professionals, he added.
