Call to infuse dynamism into social services

Massive social welfare services being provided by the government to the backward people is ensuring inclusive development of all to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) by 2030 next.
Department of Social Services (DSS) in Kishoreganj arranged a discussion, cheque distribution among the distressed people and cultural function at Child Family (Girls) Auditorium on Sunday marking the National Social Services Day-.
Civil Surgeon (CS) in Kishoreganj Dr .Mujibur Rahman, attended as Chief Guest and ADM Farzana Khanam, Additional SP (Administration) Mustuque Sarker were attended as special guests while Deputy Director(DD) DSS Md.Kamruzzaman presided over.
It was addressed among others by Jail Super (JS) Bazlur Rashid, Assistant director Md.Shahidul, Mohila Awami League district secretary Bilkis Begum and Officials of the DSS and other government departments, executives of different NGOs and organizations working for the welfare of physically challenged and unprivileged people, civil society members and elite attended the occasion.
ADM Farzana Khanam discussed the massive social welfare activities, including massive social safety-net works, allowances and training programmes, is being implemented by the government to ensure inclusive development of all people leaving none behind.
Social Service for successful implementation of social welfare activities contributing to cutting poverty and improving the living standard of socially backward, poor, distressed and physically challenged and unprivileged people. CS Dr. Mujibur Rahman urged all for properly implementing the social service programmes to reach benefits to the targeted people for their inclusive development to achieve the SDGs by 2030 on the way to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041 next.
Bhangura(Pabna) Correspondent says : The National Social Service Day was observed with the theme ‘Success of Mujib Year, You will get all allowances at home’ in Bhangura Upazila of Pabna on Sunday.
On this occasion, a discussion meeting was organized in the Conference Room of the Upazila Parishad on Sunday noon at the joint initiative of the Upazila Administration and Social Service Department. UNO Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan presided over the discussion meeting. Upazila Chairman Md Baki Billah as a Special guest spoke on the occasion.
Among others Press Club President Prof. Mahbub Ul Alom, Upazila Social Service Officer Mohammad Zahidul Islam,Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md Saiful Alam and Acting Principal of Bhangura Union School and College Md Rafiqul Islam Robi spoke in the occasion.
BSS from Rajshahi adds : Speakers at a discussion here on Sunday unequivocally called for infusing dynamism into the social services for the welfare of the people with special needs and other underprivileged sections of the society.
They put emphasis on ensuring transparency and accountability in all the welfare-oriented social service activities so that the target group of people could derive total benefits of the welfare programmes.
Department of Social Services (DSS) and District administration jointly organised the discussion at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) office in observance of the National Social Service Day.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Mujib Barsher Safalata, Ghorei Paben Sakal Vata.’
On the occasion, some of the people with special needs were given blankets, wheelchairs, rickshaw and other income-generating tools and devises for welfare of them.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kolyan Chowdhury, Additional District Magistrate Sabiha Sultana, DSS Additional Director Debashis Kumar and Deputy Director Hasina Momtaz addressed the meeting as resource persons.
Development activists Habibur Rahman and Asaduzzaman Russel also spoke. The speakers unanimously attributed that the present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing various social safety net programs for overall development of the public in general. They urged the officials and staff concerned to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for successful implementation of the programmes taken by the government.
Nearly 100 government and non-government officials and employees and volunteers joined the programme.
