The International Day of Persons with Disabilities-2015 was observed on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Saturday to help protect the rights of disabled persons.
Physically Challenged Development Foundation (PDF), a voluntary organization works to protect the rights of persons with disabilities, JU branch brought out a rally from central Shaheed Minar premises which was terminated at Amar Ekushey premises after parading main streets of the campus.
Earlier, a short discussion meeting was held at Shaheed Minar premises while Chief Advisor of JU PDF Professor Dr. ATM Atiqur Rahman addressed the function as the chief guest.
Presided over by President of JU PDF Kawser Hamid and conducted by Secretary Md. Sumon Ali, Professor of JU Physics department AA Mamun, Assistant Professor of Institute of Business Administration (IBA-JU) Aireen Akhter, Chairman of JU Law and Justice Department Md. Rabiul Islam and Vice President of PDF central committee Ikhtiyarul Arefeen addressed the function, among others.
The speakers urged everyone to come forward for building a disabled friendly university as well as the country.
