Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif instructed officials concerned to rehabilitate poor people with allocating ‘khas land’ and providing materials for houses among landless people.
“Identify people at Guchhogram who rented houses to others and cancelled their allocation,” he said this on Thursday while speaking at a khas land leasing meeting at Ishwardi upazila parisad as the chief guest.
The minister said many people got houses at Guchhogram giving false information and some of the allottees are not living at their houses.
He asked officials concerned to reallocate houses among real needy people.
With Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sanwar Hossain in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by Upazila Chairman of Ishwardi Mokhlesur Rahman Mintu and Vice-Chairman Mahjebin Shirin Peya.
Later, the minister planted 2,000 flowering trees on Sarah Maroari High School ground.
