Speakers at a discussion called upon all concerned for turning the youths into driving forces of national economy to make the vision 2021 successful.
They were addressing the discussion on Saturday arranged by the Department of Youth Development (DYD) in observance of the National Youth Day-2014 at Shilpakala Academy of the district town.
State Minister for Water Resources Lt Col. (Retd.) Nazrul Islam was present at the function as chief guest with local lawmaker Rahima Akhter as special guest.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman presided over the function while Deputy Director of DYD Mohammad Delwar Hossain delivered the welcome speech.
The chief guest urged all concerned to take necessary measures to develop the youths of the country as worthy citizens having education, human values and patriotism.
The minister hoped the youth of the country would be able to build Sonar Bangla in future.
The government is being implemented a number of programme for youth development, he added.
It was addressed, among others, by Superintendent of Police Sheikh Rafiqul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Suriaya Begum, District Co-operative officer Ashraful Islam, successful youth organizer Jasim uddin and successful employee Monira Begum.
