Call for tobacco free Port City thru’ musical concert

Bangladesh Institute of Theatre Arts, Consumers Association of Bangladesh and ELLMA with the support of CTFK are conducting awareness programme against the tobbaco use and its marketting in school and colleges adjoining areas following the directives of the city Mayor.
To accelerate the Mayor’s notifications, this anti-tobacco programs through cultural and musical program, the campaign launched in 41 wards of the city.
In the meantime 72 musical shows staged in 36 city wards . City in his recent notifications in the medias to aware the mass people through social programs rather any lawful measures.
In this connection, BITA Executive Director Shishir Dutta reiterated that from British rule upto movement for independence , cultural initiatives played important rold for arising public awareness.
He said cultural campaign is most effective than any speech, statement, postering not so affective. Project coordinator Pradip Achariya said govt enacted Tobacco Act in 2005 and it was amended in 2013 .
