President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mahbubul Alam emphasized the need for upgrading Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in 8 lanes, LNG terminal and Deep Sea Port aimed at attracting the investment from local and foreign countries.
He disclosed it while addressing the seminar held on ‘Investing in Economic Zones & Infrastructure Development’ as arranged by the Bangladesh Investment Board as discussants on Sunday.
Chittagong chamber president said that the infrastructure development work should be implemented quickly with necessary connections of gas, power and water to attract the investors .
He further said after fullswing operation of New Morring container terminal (NCT), the productivity of the Chittagong Port will go high.
He said considering the geographical location, govt declared to set up specialized economic zone at Mirsarai and Anowara upazila in Chittagong.
He called upon the investors from home and abaroad to come forward to invest in the proposed economic zones aimed at turning the country into a mid-come country by next decade , a sources of CCCI said.
