Call centres for expatriate Bangladeshis launched

The government on Thursday launched a call centre for expatriate Bangladeshis so that they could easily communicate with their families and friends at home.
They can also lodge complaints through the call centre, which will be forwarded to the authorities concerned for taking necessary steps.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam inaugurated the call centre named Probashi Bandhu this morning at the Probashi Kalyan Bhaban in the capital city.
Initially, the call center will cater to the needs of Bangladeshi workers in three particular countries including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Jordan. The number of the call centre is 09654333333. Currently, 25 lakh Bangladeshis are working in these three countries.
Through the call centre, the migrants would also have the facilities of discussing their various problems related to renewal of passport, getting legal support, compensation and financial assistance and sending dead bodies.
Similar call centre would be introduced in phases for Bangladeshi people working in other countries, the minister told the inaugural programme.
