CAG offices remain open during Covid-19 shutdown

Offices of Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh (OCGA) remain open during the ongoing nationwide shutdown enforced to contain the spread of coronavirus.
By this time, the CAG office disbursed Pahela Boishakh allowance to the government employees and pension to eight lakh retired public servants.
Chuadanga District Accounts and Finance Officer Amir Hossain infected with coronavirus while discharging his duty during the shutdown. Meanwhile, CAG office also keeping accounts of the government’s ongoing relief expenditure across the country.
The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (OCAG), the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Bangladesh is responsible for auditing government and public expenditure and to ascertain whether expenditures have yielded value for money in government offices, public bodies and statutory organisations.
