The Special Judge Court-4 of Dhaka yesterday sentenced Asir Uddin, executive engineer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), to 10 years in prison in a case filed for illegally amassing wealth of about Tk three crore. The court also ordered to confiscate his properties.
Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam of special court handed down the order on Sunday. Asir Uddin was present in the court during the pronouncement of the verdict.
Later, he was sent to the prison with warrant.
Mahfuza Khatun, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case with Ramna Model Police Station against Asir Uddin on May 14, 2017 for amassing wealth of the wealth illegally from unknown sources.
