Businessmen at Chaugachha upazila headquarters staged demonstrations shutting their business outlets protesting at the alleged act of some policemen who attempted to make trap for Rajon Sen, son of Rabin Sen, owner of Senco Jewellers at the locality on Tuesday.
The traders confined Kamruzzaman of Chaugachha police station inside the jewellery shop while he (SI) along with assistant sub inspector Akbar Ali and constable Nazmul Islam tried to pick up Rajon Sen from the shop saying that there were Yaba pills in possession of Rajon at around 12noon. Hearing the information, businessmen of the area rushed to the spot and confined the police official inside the shop. The other policemen, however, managed to flee the scene, said SM Shafiquzzaman, president, Chaugachha Bazar Traders Association.
