The monthly divisional business assessment and view-sharing meeting August- 2016 for officials of the principal, regional and corporate branch offices of Sonali Bank Limited (SBL) was held on Wednesday.
General Manager of Rangpur Divisional General Managers’ Office of the bank Md Mahbubur Rahman presided over the meeting at his conference room in the city.
All regional chiefs, chiefs of all six principal offices, regional offices, corporate branches and senior officials of the SBL from all eight districts in Rangpur division participated.
The meeting assessed business achievements of all regional, corporate, principal offices and branches of the bank during the month of August last and put maximum emphasis on achieving all fixed business indexes during the current fiscal.
In his speech, the General Manager provided necessary directions and asked the field level officials for achieving all set business targets of the bank during the current fiscal year.
He suggested for strengthening Internal Control and Compliance, extending Online Any Branch Banking GES Foreign Remittance facilities and ensuring full security in all branches as per direction of the Head Office of the bank.
He directed the field level SBL officials for having adequate knowledge about money laundering, increasing capitals and profits, disbursing loans in the Cash Credit, SME, agro-industry and other prospective sectors.
The General Manager put special emphasis on enhancing disbursement of loans in various poverty alleviation sectors, including easy term agriculture loans at 4 per cent interest rate for increasing production of pulse, oilseed and spices.
