Staff Reporter :At least five passengers were injured when a passenger bus of Turag Transport plunged into a roadside ditch from the Kuril Flyover in the city while trying to avoid a collision with a private car on Monday morning.But the bus ultimately failed to avoid the collision and hit the car face-to-face in violent speed, the witnesses said. The private car was coming from wrong direction.Identity of the injured could not be known immediately. They were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital and released after first aid, Shahidul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Khilkhet Police Station, said. The OC said, “The bus lost control while descending from the Kuril Flyover and rammed into a private car before falling into the ditch around 10:15am. Its driver lost control over the steering, leaving five passengers injured.”On information, three firefighting units rushed to the spot and rescued it after conducting a salvage operation. The bus was pulled out from the ditch and taken to the police station, the OC said. A case was filed in this connection, he said.
