Bus driver for Krishna tragedy held

The bus driver who was responsible for the accident of Krishna Roy, a female official of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), has been detained.
The incident caused Krishna Roy, 50, to lose one of her legs.
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) detained driver Morshed from the city’s Kazipara area on Sunday night, said PBI Superintendent of Police Bashir Ahmed. On August 27, Krishna Roy lost her leg after a bus hit her as it lost control and ploughed through a footpath in Dhaka’s Banglamotor area.
Krishna was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Later, she was transferred to National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital) for better treatment.
Following the accident, Krishna’s leg had to be amputated and she received injuries in different parts of her body.
Later on August 31, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said that those who were responsible for the accident of BIWTA staff Krishna Roy would be brought to justice.
