Five people were killed and another was injured in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway in Satkania upazila on Saturday evening. The deceased could not be identified immediately. Officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station Khaled Hossain said the fatal accident took place around 6pm when the Chittagong-bound bus of ‘S Alam Paribahan’ collided with the auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction at Pathani pool on the highway, leaving five auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and another injured critically. The injured person was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Police seized the bus but its driver managed to flee the scene, the OC added. — Source: UNB
