BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused the government of handing over lists of its leaders and activists to the BGB and the RAB for arresting them in order to keep them behind the bar until the national election.
“We came to know that the BGB and the RAB have allegedly conducted bunches of arrest of leaders and activists of BNP-led 20-party alliance and JOF from Saturday
night (Saturday) to isolate them from polls campaign. The home ministry has already handed over lists of leaders and activists to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB),” the BNP leader said in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan office in the capital.
Rizvi said that he had information that the polling agents of ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ would be arrested before one or two days of the election.
The BNP leader accused the police of giving directions to the ruling party men how to rig vote.
BNP leaders Taimur Alam Khandaker, Ahmed Azam Khan and Munir Hossain, among others, were present.
