Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) of Panchagarh district is expecting bumper jute production in all five upazilas of the district in the current season.
DAE sources said a total of 10,000 hectares of land were brought under jute cultivation against the target of 7,000 hectares fixed by DAE.
The DAE supplied all necessary seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and others agriculture inputs free of cost among farmers to achieve the production target.
Besides, the department also imparted training to the farmers to make them acquainted with the modern methods of Jute cultivation.
Farmers are happy as there has been a bumper yield of jute this year.
Farmers of the district would start harvesting of jute in the last week of this month.
